Nottingham and Nottinghamshire NHS Lung Cancer Screening

If you are aged 55 to 74 and your GP has a record of you being a smoker or having ever smoked,
you will be invited by letter for Lung Cancer Screening. Think of it as an MOT for your lungs. This service is currently available to people registered at GP Practices in Nottinghamshire and Nottingham.

We are currently offering lung cancer screening around Gedling, Carlton or Burton Joyce. Don't worry if this is not where you are registered with a GP practice as we are always on the move. Look out on here for updates on where we are!

Introduction

Most people will find out that their lungs are working fine. Some people may benefit from further tests or treatment either from their GP or Hospital Doctors. When it comes to lung health, spotting problems early can make a big difference.

Lung Cancer Screening will take place over the telephone but you may also be invited for a lung scan. These will be in convenient community locations so they are local and easy to get to.

Lung Cancer Screening is a multi-year programme which will be gradually introduced in stages across our community. You will receive an invitation letter in the post when your GP practice is being invited.
